"Tống sử" chí đệ nhất bách tứ thập binh nhất (cấm quân thượng) viết:“三年十二月,枢密使文彦博等上在京、开封府界及京东等路禁军数,帝亦参以治平中兵数而讨论焉。遂诏:殿前虎翼除水军一指挥外,存六十指挥,各以五百人为率,总三万四百人;在京增广勇五指挥,共二千人;开封府界定六万二千人,京东五万一千二百人,两浙四千人,江南东五千二百人,江南西六千八百人,荊湖南八千三百人,荊湖北万二千人,福建四千五百人,广南东、西千二百人,川峡三路四千四百人为额。在京其余指挥并河东、陕西、京西、淮南路既皆拨并,唯河北人数尚多,乃诏禁军以七万为额。初,河北兵籍比诸路为多,其缘边者且仰给三司,至是而拨并畸零,立为定额焉。是时,京东增置武卫军,分隶河北四路,后又以三千人戍扬、杭州、江宁府,其后又团结军士置将分领,则谓之将兵云。”

  6. 《續資治通鑒長編 卷一百五十 慶曆四年》:「得中國土地,役中國人民,稱中國位號,仿中國官屬,任中國賢才,讀中國書籍,用中國車服,行中國法令。是二寇所為,皆與中國等,而又勁兵驍將長於中國,中國所有,彼盡得之;彼之所長,中國不及。」
